The Ministry of Culture is a contemporary visual arts collective in Los Angeles, California. As agents of intelligent change, the Ministry of Culture creates, presents and sponsors temporary public art, programs and exhibitions in a variety of creative disciplines, and provides cultural activities to the public. We realize this mission through collaboration with emerging & established artists and cultural activists and organizations in the U.S. and around the world.
A Ministry of Culture is an alien notion in the United States. In 2006, when a great many number of non-profit organizations were disappearing in the U.S. a couple of arts professionals in East Los Angeles decided to form the Ministry of Culture (hereon referred to as MOC on some posts).
